To correct the problem, it was necessary for us to properly remove the existing mortar, reset loose bricks and repoint ALL mortar (brick ) joints. A concrete "wash" was poured on the top of the chimney as well as the installation of stainless steel chiney caps coverting each flue.

The first part of the restoration work is to cutout (remove) the existing mortar between each brick to a uniform depth. This mortar between the bricks is known as pointing. After the brick joints have been removed, the brickwork will be cleaned, normally with water and a mild, environmentally friendly detergent.

Through our experience, we've found that a thorough and systematic approach is imperative in restoring and waterproofing your chimney. Every so often, a "patch" job is requested. Unfortunately, we will not provide that service because we've found it to be a waste of money and it only compromises the integrity of the chimney. The correct chimney restoration will last a lot longer and hse our 5-year Labor & Material Warranty.
